I have noticed that many clocks in colonial times had eagles as findings. I am very curious to find out if there was a reason for that?
A It is an example of the Federal design from that time period. You can also find eagles on architectural elements and furniture. I will find you a link if I can but also consider that it is a representation of a nationalistic attitude toward the eagle due to it being a national symbol.
